Packing for Summer in Portland

Packing for Summer in Portland

Let me just say, summer in Portland is pretty great. The weather is wonderful and there is a ton of fun stuff to do. I had a blast running around and exploring the city in June.

During the day it was perfectly nice and warm in the 70’s, and in the evenings it cooled off to the mid 50’s. So when I was packing up for this trip I made sure to bring my summer clothes as well as some layers for those cooler temperatures. We even got a few little sprinkles one day so I’m glad to have had my rain jacket.

How to spend a weekend in Portland

Portland has got an awesomely unique style all its own, and while I might not be able to compete with some of the more wild trends, like neon-colored bike shorts! I feel like I brought my own hipster style in the form of some bright colors and funky patterns, and as always an assortment of hats.

Make packing for you trip easy with packing lists!

The week we spent in Portland started out on the cooler side so I opted for the jeans and sweatshirt kind of combo plus a hat for good measure. But as the week wore on the temperatures increased and I got to break out the shorts and tee shirts for the warm days.

I spent most of my time checking out the shops on Hawthorne and in the Alberta Arts District and eating and drinking basically everything in sight so I kept my clothing choices pretty casual and city-oriented.

To be honest, with all the fancy donuts and ice cream to try I probably should have packed more in the way of elastic waste-band pants! haha
