I love summer time in Europe. The weather is warm even into the evening, there are all kinds of outdoor cafes and restaurants, and I can pretend that all those gelato calories don’t count because of all the walking.
This summer Rob and I are heading to Berlin, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and ending our trip in France for a friends wedding. Per usual we always try to pack as light as possible which posed an interesting challenge. I wanted to make sure I had good clothes and shoes for traveling around as well as something nice to wear to the wedding.
Traveling around Europe can be easy, here’s everything you should know about the Eurail Pass
I got myself Cotopaxi’s 35L Alpa Backpack which is a suitcase-backpack-carry on situation, and I managed to pack everything I would need for a month into it. It’s awesome and I love it!
So here is what I’m bringing. I kept to a simple color palette of blues and grays for my separates and went for bright reds and yellows for my dresses.
1.Sunglasses // 2. Small Purse // 3. One Piece (similar) // 4. Bikini (similar) // 5. Red Dress (similar) // 6. Yellow Dress (similar) // 7. Chambray Dress // 8. Maxi Dress (similar) // 9. White Tee // 10. Striped Tee // 11. Champagne Tank (similar) //12. Brunch Tank (similar) // 13. Striped Button Down // 14. Joggers // 15. Jean Shorts // 16. Jean Jacket // 17. Cardigan Sweater // 18. Scarf (similar) // 19. Tennis Shoes // 20. Sandals
Packing Light
To keep my clothing minimal I packed dresses that roll up nice and small and just a few bottoms and tops. In the warm weather I figured that dresses would be comfiest to wear anyways, so I wouldn’t need to bother with a ton of different bottom and top options.
The biggest thing to save space was only bringing two pairs of shoes. I definitely wanted sandals, comfy shoes to be able to walk around in, something nice to wear to the wedding, and running shoes to be able to work out. I love these tennies from All Birds, they are cute enough to wear with normal clothes and can double as running shoes. And the strappy sandals from Madewell are great for cruising around to the beach, but still nice enough to wear with a dress to the wedding.
More packing lists for destinations in Europe!
When we are traveling for a long period of time I usually plan to do laundry a few times. I will always bring a little bottle of laundry detergent to be able to wash things in the sink. And sometimes we get lucky and have a washing machine where ever we are staying! But this helps to keep the packing light so you aren’t packing a whole months worth of clothes.
