As we head into spring we also come upon festival season. And if you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know that I am no stranger to the music festival scene, with my favorite being Coachella.
I started going to Coachella in 2011, so I’ve got a few years under my belt of festival style and it has evolved quite a bit. My first years of festival-ing I was in my early twenties, I didn’t think much about fashion, and I wore a lot of jean shorts and bathing suit tops. I also had this floppy straw hat that I was strangely obsessed with it. But hey, we all can look back on an outfit and think “what was I thinking?!?”.
So I thought it would be fun to look back on the last seven years of Coachella fashion, and I’ll share what I’m packing for this year.
8 things to know this festival season

The first year I went, wasn’t really thinking about fashion at all, I was mostly concerned with staying cool and comfortable. So swim suites and shorts were my staple and I threw in that cotton dress one day just for fun. And theres that straw hat, ugh! Why?

One year it rained and I wore this crazy looking poncho that I made out of plastic-y table cloth material. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Fanny packs and gold bikini’s are always a good idea. I actually really like that long sheer skirt too, it was super comfy, cute, and cool during the hot day.

The last few years I’ve gotten more into fashion and have had a lot of fun planning my outfits for Coachella, and honestly for life. In general I still stick to what’s going to be comfortable in 100 degree heat, but Coachella is the perfect place to try out something you might not normally wear like a romper or a kimono.
