Anyone else ready for a break from winter and want to head somewhere tropical? I feel like I am certainly ready to ditch the snow and head back to Thailand’s southern islands. Someone please hand me a fresh coconut, I’m ready for some warm sand and mellow island vibes.
All the islands in southern Thailand are amazing. From the Chumphon Archipelago (Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, and Koh Samui) in the Gulf of Thailand to the western islands of Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and Phuket in the Andaman Sea, they are all beautiful beach paradises. With average temperatures in the 80’s across southern Thailand year round any and all of the islands make for the perfect beach getaway.
Warm weather and sandy beaches also make for easy packing.
Seriously, tanks tops, shorts and swimsuits are all you need. So here’s what I would pack for two weeks of island hopping and beach bumming.
Things you’ll need
You’ve got your standard tropical beach wear like shorts, tanks, and bathing suits, but there are a few things you might not have thought of. You’ll probably take a break fro the beaches to go check out some temples at some point (because they are beautiful) and for that I included loose fitting pants and a scarf, because you have to have your legs and shoulders covered. I also included the hoodie sweatshirt because the AC can be cranked up so high indoors that I tend to get a little chilly, it seems crazy but it happens.
All the Thai islands are beautiful destinations for a tropical getaway, so enjoy those beaches and don’t forget the sunscreen!
