The Best Happy Hour in South Lake Tahoe

Everyone loves a good happy hour, it’s a great way to wind down from a day at work, or if your in Tahoe, it’s a great way to end a day on the slopes or the trail. 

After careful research (i.e. drinking) I’ve narrowed down some of the best deals on drinks and snacks around South Lake Tahoe. Regardless if you’ve been working all day, driving up, or enjoying the mountain, these deals are sure to put a smile on your face and kick you into relaxation mode.

The Chart House

Time & Days: 4-6 PM Sunday-Friday

Deal: $4-$7 Appetizers, $7 Cocktails, $6 wine, $4 draft beer

About: For an upscale feel with a good deal on food and drinks plus a great view of the mountains and the lake The Chart House is the best deal in town. The restaurant is on the fancier side making it a good spot for a date night that won’t break the bank. Try to get a seat by the window in the bar area so you can enjoy the excellent views.

Azul Latin Kitchen

Time & Days: 2-5 PM Everyday

Deal: $7.50 Margarita, $4 Wine, $3 off Draft Beers, $5 Premium Spirits, $8 Burrito, $6 Tostada

About: Azul has good Mexican food and excellent margaritas with a fun and funky vibe. It’s located in Heavenly Village making it a good spot to stop when you are coming off the mountain. Even though the chips and guacamole and queso aren’t on the happy hour menu they are my favorite and I get them every time.

Samurai Sushi

Time & Days: 5-6:30 PM Sunday-Thursday

Deal: $6 Specialty Rolls, $3.50 Hand Rolls, $5 Appetizers, $5 Large Beer and Sake, $3 Small Beer and Sake

About: Samurai has the best sushi in town and happy hour takes some of that financial guilt out of gorging yourself on rainbow rolls. There is a large fireplace in the center of the restaurant with seating all around it making it a cozy spot to eat and drink.

The Hangar

Time & Days: 7-8 PM Everyday

Deal: $2 off Draft Beers

About: The Hangar is the place for beer lovers, they have 28 beers on tap and more in bottles. The taps are always rotating with beers from all over California so if you are looking to try something new this would be the place to do it. They don’t have a kitchen but food trucks and vendors are generally around on the weekends to satisfy any munchies.

Sidellis

Time & Days: 4-6 PM Monday-Friday

Deal: $1 off Sidellis Brewed Pints, $1 off Wine, $1 off Snacks

About: Sidellis has got that hometown brewery vibe, it’s a mellow spot with board games and a back garden that’s open in the summer. The beer is brewed onsite so you’ll see barrels around. It’s a no-frills kind of place with good beer and snacks.

Pick 6

Pick 6 Sports Bar
Pick 6 Happy Hour

Time & Days: 3-6 PM Monday-Friday

Deal: $1 off Beer, Wine, and Appetizers 

About: If you are looking to catch a game of any kind, Pick 6 probably has it on one of their many TVs. This sports bar is huge, it’s two stories with a really awesome balcony for sunny days. They’ve got solid bar food and a huge selection of drinks which makes a good place to go with a group, it’s got a little something for everyone plus enough space to seat large parties.

Classic Cue

Time & Days: 3-6 PM Daily

Deal: $0.50 off Pints and $1.50 off pitchers, $1.50 Chicken or Fish Tacos on Mondays 

About: A local favorite for their tacos and cheap beer, the Classic Cue is a little divey-er than other places on this list but is a solid spot for a good deal on drinks. They’ve got several pool tables and Karaoke on Wednesday and Friday nights so you’re never short of entertainment.
