Packing for Two Weeks in Indonesia

Packing for 2 weeks in Indonesia

Indonesia is a beautiful and magical country, I loved getting to explore just a few of the 17,000 islands last fall. We spent two weeks exploring Bali, Gili Trawangan, and Komodo. Packing for the warm weather and the beach is pretty easy, but remember to bring a few conservative pieces. Indonesia as a whole is fairly modest when it comes to clothing and if you visit any temples you’ll definitely need to cover your shoulders and legs. So light weight pants and a scarf are a must.

Otherwise, if you are hanging out at the beach, and in touristy areas shorts and tank tops are totally acceptable.

Packing List for Indonesia

The average temperatures in Indonesia are in the 80’s so that tropical sun can get intense, make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and a good floppy hat. A cute stretchy head band is definitely nice for helping keep your hair back and out of your face too.

When we were in Indonesia, I spent most of my time in shorts and tank tops or flowy dressy to stay cool and comfy in the heat. And I liked having a sleeved button down to put on over a tank top to cover my shoulders whenever needed.

I come from Malaysia, so I understand what you mean by the intense heat 🙂 We prefer to move around in t-shirt and shorts too but you’re right, there are places in Indonesia where they frown upon visitors who don’t dress appropriately especially at places of worship. And i believe it’s the same for other South-East Asia countries too when visiting temples or mosques. Thanks for sharing the tips! #farawayfiles

Lucky thing! Indonesia was the first country I ever visited and it holds a special place in my heart. The humidity is intense though so your tips are spot on. Really appreciate that you mentioned the adjustment required to beach wear when visiting temples. So important. Thanks for joining #farawayfiles
